About

Who Are These People

Tyler is a native Menardian, fourth generation from the area. He graduated from Menard High School then Angelo State. He is the broker of FINDARANCH.com. He also has a land construction business, co-owner of London Dance Hall, runs cattle and buys and sells land among other irons in the fire. He is also a Menard County Commissioner.

Paige is from San Angelo and graduated from Tarleton State (undergrad) and Lasell College (grad). I publish The Menard News and serve on enough volunteer boards of directors that it makes my head spin, but I am happy to serve and help make Menard even better.

I will not bore you with our community involvement resumes, but I will guarantee we are at the top of community involvement in man hours, resource and monetary contribution for the betterment of Menard County. For this reason, we are considering selling about 10 acres of a property we own to RES- Renewable Environmental Systems for the purpose of the installation of a $90 million+ BESS facility outside of the city limits of Menard yet within the county. The potential project is safe and has the potential to bring otherwise unattainable tax revenue to Menard County.

You can usually catch us in town, but if you’d rather, feel free to call or text to visit about all this, because it is a lot!

Why There is no Vote

There has not been a steady flow of every detail on this or multiple meetings because there is no governing body authorized to approve or deny the sale of our private property for this very conventional use. Public information meetings are not required in any form unless the developer seeks a tax abatement on the project. –See the Benefits to the Community tab above for an explanation on what a tax abatement–
If RES, the project developer, does not seek a tax abatement from the county, no one is entitled to know anything. This is not a nuclear waste dump.
We have been transparent because we want people to be comfortable and know what is going on, should it be built. Look how that turned out.
We are not going anywhere if we sell this property. We live here and choose to raise our children here. We will not get rich quick off the sale of 10 acres, even above market value. Sorry, that is a weak argument to take on this.
Yes, Tyler is a county commissioner… and? He is a lot of other things in this community, as am I.
Never once was the potential sale or lease proceeds of this land for BESS based on what WE would profit from it. We buy and sell land frequently.
Earlier this year we basically cornered the developer and told him it was time to cut the shit, if the potential tax revenue was only like $50k or so he could move on down the road. When we started talking real numbers into the potential million-plus-per-year territory, we got more serious about the reality of the project.
